I created worldbayonets.com—The Collector's Edge Web site, in 2006. I wanted to share my bayonet collecting interest and make available to others, information accumulated in my research database while documenting bayonets in my collection and collaborating with other collectors/researchers. What began with six pages, has grown to 3,250.
The heart of the worldbayonets.com site is the Bayonet Identification Guide. It contains detailed descriptions and over 2,300 photographs of more than 350 bayonets from 60 countries; plus more than 60 belt frogs and related items. Bayonets are indexed by country and by length, as well as some type-specific pages. Visit the Bayonet History Timeline to learn about how the bayonet came to be (I guarantee you'll learn something that you didn't know). I also include a bibliography of the books in my reference library, a listing of my published articles, and an online library of bayonet-related reference materials.
I occasionally offer a few items for sale or trade. These are duplicates or pieces that no longer fit into my collection. I am always willing to help identify an unknown or old bayonet from your family or collection.
